Gates Flag & Banner Company, Inc. is a small, family-owned business specializing in the sale of flags and banners, as well as the service and installation of flagpoles. Proudly serving customers since 1870, we are one of the largest retailers of flags and flagpoles in the Northeast, with locations in Clifton, NJ and Lynchburg, VA. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support both our marketing initiatives and custom product team. This position is in-person in the Lynchburg, VA office.
Position Overview:
The Graphic Designer will play a key role in bringing our brand and customer visions to life. This position supports both internal marketing efforts and client-facing custom design projects, including flags, banners, and signage. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with both collaborative and independent responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design custom flags, banners, and signage based on customer specifications
- Collaborate with the sales and custom teams to create accurate and compelling proofs
- Develop marketing materials including email graphics, social media content, website assets, and print materials
- Maintain brand consistency across all marketing and customer-facing designs
- Prepare production-ready artwork and ensure files meet print specifications
- Vector, edit and enhance customer-provided images for optimal print quality
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Assist in developing new product designs and collections
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, required)
- Strong understanding of print production and file setup
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with large-format or signage design is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate via various software systems (CRM, Internal Chat)
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed
Position Details:
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM
